People from other countries have several stereotypes about India and what people from India like me do in their everyday life. However, it is not always bad, and sometimes our actions leave a profound mark on their life. Below, I have mentioned a story where we got to see a foreigner's perspective about the actions my family and I took informant of him. 

Our Actions From a Foreigner's Perspective

During a little chat with a foreigner from the USA, I discovered that he highly respects our culture. Our conversation began when Mike (the foreigner) saw me touching my parents' feet. 

He came to us and asked why I was touching their feet. When my father explained that it is to show respect to our elders, he was shocked and amazed by the depth of this simple gesture. 

He thought adding sir or mam during a conversation was the only way to show someone respect. But, today's encounter changed his thought process. His horizon widened, and he now understands the value we give to our elders in our culture.

Finally, Mike decided to bid us farewell and told us that he would be bringing this part of our culture to his community in the USA. He was smiling while he was waving us goodbye.
