What Would You Do if You Had an Elephant for a Pet?

I was able to interact closely with elephants during my trip to the Dubare Elephant Camp in Coorg, Karnataka. Before that, I had seen them only in zoos. If I had an elephant for a pet, I would be very happy. I would take care of it and play with it every day.

What Will You Feed Your Pet Elephant?

I have read that elephants are herbivores. They like eating grass, the bark of trees, and leaves. I had grains and hay made into a ball to feed the elephants at the camp. Moreover, I was told that they love jackfruit as well as other fruits such as apples, palms, and bananas. I will feed my pet elephant all its favorite greens and fruits.

How Will You Pet Your Elephant?

I will pet my elephant by scratching its ears and back. I’ll bathe it using the garden hose that my mother uses to water plants. We would go for a walk in the afternoon, and I would swing on its trunk. I do not like animals being used as joyrides for people, so I won’t ride on my elephant’s back. I will make sure my pet elephant has a nice place to stay. Additionally, I will make sure to give it blankets so it does not feel cold.
