At present, there are several problems before the human race. The issue of unemployment is one of them in India and the whole world. Both the educated and uneducated are facing the problem of unemployment.
“Unemployment is a state in which a person cannot earn due to lack of work.”
Lack of education, and lack of employment opportunities, all these reasons lead to unemployment. Unemployment is a matter of crisis for us.
Our government is working very vigorously on this issue, yet the problem of unemployment remains in the country.
Unemployment is a severe problem in society.
Society treats an unemployed person with inferiority. Unemployment gives rise to many other problems in our society.
It may result in famine, poverty, higher criminal activities, and terrorism, etc.
There are mainly three types of unemployment -
- Disguised unemployment happens when too many workers are there for less work.
- Seasonal unemployment occurs when demand for workers decreases in a specific time period.
- Open unemployment is a situation when people have skills and knowledge but cannot find a suitable job.
Some reasons for increasing unemployment in a country are given below:
- Illiteracy - Among the poor, the leading cause of unemployment is illiteracy. Many labourers and farmers have no knowledge of how they can earn extra money in their leisure time.
- Overpopulation - Another major cause of increasing unemployment is the increase in population, as the jobs are limited, so everyone can't get a job. Therefore, checking on the population is necessary.
- Defective system of education - The structure of the education system is not proper, which is also the reason for increasing unemployment.
- Only theoretical education is given to students; there is no professionalism, so students have to go through extra training before applying for any job.
- Hate for manual labour - After getting educated, people try not to do jobs that involve manual labou. They prefer doing respectable work, and until they are not getting the desired job, they choose to remain unemployed.
The government must take effective steps to stop or reduce unemployment, and we should support the government and those who are working to increase employment opportunities for people.
Cooperative farming will also be helpful. Education should be child-centric coupled with creative and practical knowledge of the subjects taught in the class.
