Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is a recognized test for college admissions in the United States. Formerly known as Scholastic Aptitude Test, this exam is administered by the college board to allow high school students to apply to renowned colleges. Besides American and other international universities, 35 Indian universities consider SAT scores for admission in their courses.
I realised the many benefits of taking the SAT while preparing for it. It improved my English reading, writing and speaking skills immensely. My numerical ability and general knowledge, especially in history and social science, were greatly enhanced too.
Scoring the required marks on SAT also helped me prove my skills and abilities and show college readiness to the faculty. However, it is important to note that scoring well on SAT alone will not ensure college admission; it also depends on your course rigour and recommendations.
SAT is a pivotal exam that helps colleges gauge the students' readiness for college and provides one common data point to compare all applicants.
One of my colleagues scored well on the SAT exam and was offered an academic scholarship just after a few days. How cool is that!
When I was preparing for this exam to get admission to a recognized university, I did thorough research on the SAT. Before getting started with the preparation, I comprehensively penned down the ins and outs of the test, its syllabus and its format. I solved many previous years' question papers and got acquainted with the exam pattern.
I targeted the crucial areas of my perceived weaknesses and worked on them until I converted them into my strengths. I planned a proper study schedule and took online assistance where I got stuck during the preparation. These things helped me immensely in scoring the desired marks on the SAT that I have always aspired for.
Now, I got admission to one of the top-rated universities in India and across the globe. What a feeling! Whoopee!
